Competitions

After competing and winning several local and provincial competitions as a child, Dominic had the good sense to forsake that path. His essays explain the numerous reasons why he believes that western art music has been destroyed by competitions. As such, he will not take part, adjudicate, nor support any action that is related to competitions.

Being the enigmatic figure that he is, Dominic relaxed his commitment only once. He entered the concerto competition at UBC purely as a joke; when he won Dominic found it to be both hilarious and worthless, but it must be noted that hearing him play with an orchestra was an incredible experience.
